Therapy support
At Fisher Road School, we deeply value the expertise and support that therapists bring to our school community.
We are proud to have a dedicated team of four experienced therapists who work collaboratively with our staff and students one day each week. Their specialist input plays a vital role in supporting student development, enhancing communication, and promoting well-being across the school.
NDIS therapists
Externally funded health, disability and wellbeing service providers may seek to provide their services to students at the school during school hours. Access to the school by an externally funded provider is at the discretion of the executive team.
This information sheetgives parents and carers advice about seeking approval for the delivery of NDIS-funded services at the school. It also summarises the matters the executive team will consider when deciding whether or not to accommodate an NDIS-funded service at the school, and the ongoing responsibilities of parents and carers once the school has approved NDIS-funded services at the school.
A school’s decision to grant access to an externally funded provider is on a case-by-case basis, reflecting the educational needs of the individual student and school operational requirements.
Requests need to be made by submitting a completed Parent Request for an observation or regular therapy session with an External Providers form to the school.
Speech Therapist - Brooke Workman

Music Therapist - Anita Connell
Anita leads the music therapy program at Fisher Road.
Music Therapy takes place in small groups and focuses on enhancing levels of attention, emotional understanding, regulation, communication, self-expression and extending social interactions. All through the medium of music.
Physiotherapy Therapist - Charlotte Brooks
Charlotte supports every student to reach their full mobility potential and is comfortable and pain free where mobility is compromised.
This might mean assisting with mobility aids; working on goal driven tasks with individual children; strength, balance and coordination exercises or passive range of movement exercises to prevent contractures; assisting staff in the classroom with any specific physio related concerns etc.
The Hydrotherapy pool is a fantastic medium for me to be able to take children into to work on all aspects of movement.
Pediatric Occupational Therapist - Hayley Robertson
Occupational Therapists (OTs) help children take part in their lives to the best of their ability. Occupational therapists work with children and adolescents to help them achieve their daily occupations, which may include self-care, school and play. By focusing on these key areas, OT’s help children in developing confidence, self-esteem, social skills and general wellbeing.
In order for a child to take part in daily occupations, they require concentration so they can learn and complete the activities, motor and perceptual skills so they can control and coordinate themselves, and the ability for their mind to be calm and focused so that they can help.
